Kempster partnered with Samsung to deliver an app for the crews manning McDonald's restaurants at the 2012 London Olympics. I was involved in the initial design and requirements capture phases.
The app was to provide HR, events and logistics information to staff, along with a guidebook to London as many were being bussed in for the games.
Initially I participated in brainstorming sessions, providing suggestions for features. Subsequently my role was reigning in some of this exuberance, after all there was a very limited and fixed schedule to meet, along with ensuring that all parties understood the specification.
Development was handled by a team in the Ukraine, and the project was delivered in time for the Olympics. It went well by all accounts.
